We are a little bit different to your average kids party business...

We offer all of the usual services you can expect for your child’s party; full party styling / themed party decorations, treat buffets, lolly / candy tables, beverage stations, custom stationery / party printables, birthday cakes, catering, furniture, balloons, party favours, face painters, jumping castles, props and styling as well as a host of traditional and custom designed games tailored to the ages of your guests and party theme.

Why venue selection is important

Choosing your venue is an important consideration mainly due to the intricate and elaborate set up of our event spaces.  They really are truly special, and something we pride ourselves on creating just for you.

Whilst we do on occasion service outdoor areas, we have found that too often environmental factors (such as the wind and hot sun) play havoc with the party decorations and food items (picture melted chocolate in the lolly jars and paper plates, napkins and party bags flying off the tables). 

To help with choosing the option that is best for your children’s party; we have put together a few helpful hints and tips. 

Indoor Venue Options

When choosing Pop the Balloon! to create your ideal party space, we highly recommend opting for an indoor space as a first option.  If partying at home is not possible, there are many council operated community halls in your local area that provide fantastic access for your guests.  They are clean, safe and come with all the essential facilities to ensure your party experience is the best it can be.  They often hire out hourly and can be as little as $30* per hour.  Further information on where to find your local community hall for hire, (for the NSW Central Coast region), can be found at: https://www.centralcoast.nsw.gov.au/recreation/planning-events/hall-and-venue-finder

Outdoor Venue Options

If considering an outdoor option for your children’s party, keep in mind that the wind and hot sun will have an impact on the success of your event, not to mention rain!  The best outdoor options are in a protected area – away from the wind in particular – so that the effort that goes into creating your unique party space will still be there, ready and waiting for your guests to arrive.  It also ensures that the party setting looks just as breathtaking as when we first set it up.

Pop the Balloon! Children’s Parties and Events do have marquee’s for hire which can provide basic protection from mild weather if your preferred outdoor location does not provide this.  Feel welcome to ask for this option at the time of booking. 

Community Parks and Public Spaces

Community parks and public spaces can be a great alternative to partying at home, however as mentioned, it’s worth keeping in mind the challenges that come with them.

Public spaces are also worth a special mention, particularly with the more popular parks as there are no guarantees that your preferred ‘spot’ will be available.  Often your preferred area is the same as everyone else’s!   

Some tips for partying in public parks include:

  • Review your preferred space ahead of the party and consider a few options.  This is particularly important if you are selecting a park that you have not been to before.  Be mindful of the mobility of your guests also – if you have guests attending that have reduced mobility or are using prams with babies and small children, try to ensure that your intended party space will comfortably accommodate their needs. 

  • Arranging a friend or family member to arrive early to reserve your space as there are no formal ‘bookings’ or ‘reservations’ of areas within community parks.  

  • If an early arrival is not practical, be flexible with your desired space.  If you are selecting a particular park because it has undercover seating / a BBQ area and great facilities – you may need to be prepared to bring some of these conveniences yourself.  Parks that feature these great options are often highly desired by many families looking for a relaxed area to enjoy.

Pop the Balloon! can provide you with any necessary paperwork required by your local council to enable us and our preferred suppliers to be permitted to enter the venue and set up for a party. Please enquire at the time of booking for details.

When it comes to planning a kids party, the sky is the limit! We have a number of kids birthday party themes to choose from – whether you are the consummate party DIY’er or whether you prefer to leave the details to us, we can assist you to make the most of your child’s special day.

We are a fully insured business with all of our onsite suppliers operating with valid Working With Children Checks (WWC).  Our Head Honcho (aka owner / operator), Rochelle Muscat is also a Justice of the Peace, and the best part is?  She absolutely loves to party!

A Mad Hatters Tea Party

Pop the Balloon! Children’s Parties and Events, burst onto the NSW Central Coast kids party scene in January 2016 with a party mum who had a vision to share her passion for creating the ultimate kids parties with as many children as possible.

It is our mission to constantly strive to deliver ‘wow’ events by working with teams of party professionals who are expert at creating imaginative and innovative party experiences, that put you and your guests at the heart of the celebration.  After all, we are about ‘creating memories for life’.  

We service the NSW Cetnral Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Regions, the Upper North Shore and into the Hills District as well as some parts of Sydney (with a small travel  service fee).  We cater to groups of all sizes, and budgets;  whether you’re celebrating your child’s very 1st birthday, 13th birthday or somewhere in between; styling for a children’s fund raising event, or planning an end of year Christmas party for the kids - we will work with you to design a unique event that is tailored to your vision, and perfect in every detail.  We even specialise in themed party entertainment for school vacation care programs – we really can do it all!


Rochelle is a highly capable business professional with over 20 years experience in corporate Australia. Primarily her career was dedicated to providing exceptional executive assistance to a number of demanding executive offices. More recently, she provided internal communications and project management services, supporting organisational business objectives for one of the four major global accounting firms.

Throughout her busy career, Rochelle has coordinated and delivered a number of events from budget dinners to conferences, gala dinners, workshops and road shows to name a few. It is the professionalism and sophistication demanded in these fast paced environments that enables her to bring your special event to life with minimal effort on your part.

Complimenting her corporate life was her creative and artistic endeavours as a dancer and dance teacher who was privileged to work with some of the best entertainment organisations in the business. This included her unforgettable experiences working with Disney Australia which more than any other experience - inspires her to bring more than just 'party plates and hats' to your next event.  Rather, it is about bringing the 'magic'; capturing the hearts and imaginations of every guest and ensuring that your child's party will linger in their minds long past their special day.

Having swapped the corporate world for the excitement of creating magical lands filled with pirates, Pokemon, princesses, fairies, teddy bears and magical unicorns; Rochelle is no less busy, raising her three young children with her amazing husband - right here on the Central Coast of NSW.

Rochelle is also a NSW Justice of the Peace and has a valid working with children clearance.

School Vacation Care Programs


 In our adult life, many of us experience working in organisations that focus heavily on team building, leadership and mentoring skills. Significant amounts of research and financial investment has gone into proving the value of utilising these activities to meet organisational objectives. 

But what about our children? 

What if they too could benefit from the types of activities usually reserved to aid adults build better working relationships with each other? Well, why not?

Exclusive to our school vacation care programs, PTB have designed a number of age appropriate team building activities aimed at assisting children to learn more about themselves and each other. It is our view that the more children discover about themselves, the more likely they are to engage positively with each other both within the vacation care, and broader school environments.

The games and activities are designed with ‘fun’ as the foremost priority. They encourage the children to come together and work collaboratively to problem solve and overcome various challenges to meet the objectives of the game.

My twins Alice and Ava were the luckiest little 3 year olds in the world on Saturday when they celebrated their birthday with the absolutely magical Butterfly Ball Party we won through Facebook. All of the children had an absolute ball which was evident through their squeals of delight and laughter during their entire party. Rochelle's attention to detail was immaculate from the hanging ribbons, to the little butterflies hidden throughout and the adorable plates and cups. To add to the experience Rochelle kept the children entertained with endless games, butterfly hunt, art and even prizes. They were also lucky enough to have an enormous number 3 made out of balloons thanks to Chanelle which added to the magic. I can't thank you enough for creating such a memorable and magical experience for our little girls. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone!!! Thank you again Rochelle.
